We help aspiring authors and publishers bring their works to life with target marketing!
The Marketplace Net was started by Glorybound Publishing to provide a way for authors to release their works. Book publishing and marketing have changed with the development of digital publishing.
Publishing and releasing books have changed with the times. Historically authors contacted marketing agents, pitched their manuscripts looking for an appropriate company to assist in releasing their work. The manuscripts were carefully and painstakingly edited. After a length of time, the files were mailed to a printing company. Again, after some months, a print-run was delivered to the publisher. The files were transferred into the appropriate software which brought them from 8.5 x 11 pages to book-size pages. Then, they were given to the printing company. The printing company set up the book files into a large page high-volume printer. The pages were cut and stitched together in signatures (16 pages per signature) to be gathered and stitched into a binding to become a book. My first book in 2001 was published and printed this way. The original print run was 4000 books costing 32 thousand dollars. It was a lengthy process, so large print runs were necessary. Common print-runs were 4000 books delivered on pallets and distributed to bookstore markets.
Desk-top printing became more efficient with profit margins connecting to the option of print-on-demand books within the past 15 years. One of the problems with desk-top printing is reliability of colors when printing. The software in the printer and the computer must be correlated to have consistent colors. A children’s book needs to be the same colors with each printing. The hero dog can’t afford to change colors along in the book!
Prior to 2018, CreateSpace was where independent authors were getting their books published. In 2018 Create Space was sold to Kindle Direct Publishing. They linked the process of digital publishing with marketing—and BINGO—sales of books on Amazon skyrocketed. Many brick-and-mortar stores went out of business. This left Amazon as the ‘big daddy’ of the book market. They were already selling products, so to incorporate print-on-demand books into their, already expansive market, was a natural progression.
Amazon is like a big store with empty shelves. Anyone can put their items on Seller Central. Amazon will store the items [in one of their huge buildings] or you can opt to have people order the item and mail it out on their own. As far as books are concerned, Amazon makes no differentiation if the book is new or used—they just sell books. Many libraries make money off donated books, by selling them on Amazon through Seller Central.
To bring this home, what we have discovered is conventional publishers are becoming less and less with the author population ever expanding. KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) provides a free option for authors to upload book files directly to the website and have print-on-demand. This is a HUGE benefit for the writing community because their work is instantly available to the world through Amazon and they do not need to spend thousands of dollars publishing, printing, and storing books. KDP offers instructions on using Word to format simple books and a free ISBN [number] for the book. Awesome!
However…. Authors are releasing their books on KDP [through Amazon], and discovering the title is quickly lost in the millions of new and used books on the website. Many are becoming discouraged wondering what to do next. They are thinking, “I know someone out there must be looking for a book like mine, but I don’t have what it takes to get it into the main marketplace.”
It is common for Glorybound Publishing to publish a book and have the author phone us saying he can’t find his own book on Amazon! We must provide direct links for them to find their own book!
Glorybound Publishing, with Sheri Hauser as CEO, has published over 900 books. Presently, on average, we are publishing 4 books per month placing the files directly on KDP or sending files to a professional printer. Initially, when the company was hatched [in 2005], she studied at UNLV in Las Vegas to become a webmaster and proficient in Adobe Suite Software for compiling books. For years, Glorybound printed and bound books in our office space. However, in 2018 when KDP was birthed, it became the most cost-effective way to print books when print-on-demand is desired. Our attention was directed toward on-line marketing. We opened Glorybound Sounds to produce audiobooks in 2022. Recognizing the need for increased education, Sheri Hauser obtained a Sound Engineering Diploma. The sound room has the capability to ZOOM with an author while directly feeding the audio into the digital interface recording the book live!
The on-line school recognized learning potential and offered more extended classes, so Sheri signed up one more time and, in 2023, received a diploma in Social Media Marketing. She went onto Alignable [a small business social networking site] to practice what she learned from the Social Media Marketing classes. Within 3 months, she became the Local Businessperson of the Year! The following year, in 2024, she became the Local Businessperson of the Year with the number 1 slot and the number 2 slot! She was doing the Social Media Marketing for the Chamber—so she received double recognition!

Authors often publish a book, which is immediately lost in the sea of books on Amazon. It’s not that readers are unavailable, but they can’t find the books because they are also lost in the sea of Amazon. We are opening topic-specific websites and directing traffic toward them, providing connections for consumers to purchase books. It provides an ideal environment for independently published authors to be part of a high-quality website with dependable marketing options. Glorybound Publishing offers several low-cost professional marketing websites to help authors sell their bound books, e-books, audiobooks, and music directly to consumers. We do not take a commission on books sold. Sign up for 2 categories as low as $10 per month.
Catch the wave of the internet by posting one of your books on the new marketing websites. Did I mention that we are helping with book reviews? These are key to selling on Amazon. For details check on the Membership Plans page.
